The hearing for the custody of Michael Jackson’s children has been canceled after the Jackson relatives decided to hold talks.

“I can tell you that we have had our conference call, and the result is that Monday’s hearing will not be happening,” said L. Londell McMillan, a lawyer representing Katherine Jackson, Mr. Jackson’s mother.

The Jackson’s have been negotiating with Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of the two oldest children, 12-year-old Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11. Rowe has a strong claim to guardianship according to the California Family law.

This is the second canceled custody hearing and has been rescheduled to Aug. 3.

Additionally, Jackson patriarch, Joe Jackson, is willing to step aside to help his wife win guardianship. Michael Jackson has accused his father of physical abuse.

“Joe is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure Katherine gets those kids, even if it means stepping aside,” says a source close to the family. “He knows he’s done nothing wrong, but he’s willing to sign papers saying he doesn’t live with Katherine and won’t be involved in the raising of Michael’s kids.”
