A family pet dog attacked its owner, a 5 year old girl. The girl is suffering from severe facial facial injuries. The pet, an American bulldog bit the 5 year old girl’s stepfather in arm as he tried to stop the dog from beating the girl who then turned its attention to him. Both persons were taken to the a hospital in Northampton for treatment. Both of them are safe, the attack wasn’t life threatening, though, damage was done on the girl’s face.

Just last month, April 17, a pet, thought to be an american bulldog mauled and killed Zumer Ahmed, an 18 month old girl at her home in West Sussex. The girl was with her grandma, mom and three-year-old sister in the kitchen when the dog came into the house from the garden. Workmen in the neighborhood were able to rescue Zumer from the dog but she had suffered serious facial injuries and later died in hospital.

The American bulldog is not a breed banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act. The pet is expected to be humanely “put to sleep” today.
