Joan-Cusack_lActress Joan Cusack has a movie debuting Saturday night at 8 p.m. on the Lifetime Television. “Acceptance” is a satiric movie about the pressures of college admissions.

Cusack plays a mother who’s urging her daughter to choose a college based on academic excellence. So she picks the best names for her such as Wellesley or Yale. Her daughter, on the other hand, feels she doesn’t belong to those schools her mom chooses for her and instead prefers something that’s not as prestigious.

According to Cusack, Acceptance is “about when ambition and competitiveness — those American ideals — get in the way of shaping true character.”

Just like in most of her movies, Cusack plays a somewhat neurotic character, popping pills and all.  Mark Moses plays the father who’s  barely around for his family.

Directed by Sanaa Hamri, Acceptance is based on a novel by Susan Coll.
