Egypt grabbed it’s 3-1 victory over Nigeria after converting in the 12th minute through Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke. Emad Moteab pulled it back for Egypt before goals from Ahmed Hassan and Mohammed Geda ensured that Egypt began their bid for a hat-trick of African titles on a winning note.

Mozambique recovered from its 0-2 stupor in the first 20 minutes when Razak Omotoyossi gave Benin a lead through a penalty and an own goal from Dario Khan and were able to bring it to 2-2 against Benin with Almiro Lobo scoring a goal in the 29th minute and Carlos Goncalves in the 59th minute.

Update: Egypt qualified for the quarter finals after scoring two goals (2-0) delaying Mozambique’s plans for a quarterfinal shot.
