Singer Billy Joel finally assures press that her daughter with model Christie Brinkley, Alexa Ray is gonna be fine.

Her rep says Alexa’s condition is stable and that her doctors are assessing her needs. Does this mean she gets to go on with her scheduled tree-lighting ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday?

Alexa was rushed to  St. Vincent’s Hospital on Saturday afternoon following a 911 call.

Reports from the New York Post and WABC News say Alexa swallowed an unknown quantity of sleeping pills. She has only recently broken up with a boyfriend. The police are considering a suicide attempt.

Alexa, who’s also a singer, has songs which talk of love troubles. In August, she posted a rant on her MySpace site, with the following message, “Just Men. UGH!!! MEN!!!! I don’t like dating!!! Wish I could be in a relationship again without having to date… I HATE going out!! I’m a homebody and a workaholic… I don’t like going out and drinking to meet men!!! I always have to drag myself out the door to get up the motivation to go out, and when I do go out, I don’t meet anybody!”
