Harry Connick Jr. was mentoring the Idol contestants this week. And he did so with much interest; he helped arrange all the songs of the five contestants, mentored them, and even brought his band to play.

Only Lee Dewyze, however, was able to fully utilize the opportunity. It was his night on American Idol, as he was the only one with the best performance, singing with the music of Sinatra.

He killed it, but Kara DioGuardi noted that he needed to go home and write 100 times, ‘I can win American Idol.’ At this point, the competition is tight between him and Crystal Bowersox. But Lee’s apparent shyness and vulnerability will endear him to the audience, earning him a lot of votes.

As for the question of who will get the boot-out tomorrow, people are speculating it might Casey James and Aaron Kelly. But personally, I think it is more likely that Casey James be booted out next. He has not been showing any growth of the same scale as his other competitors. He performed as stiff as ever, failing to connect well with the audience.
