Pro tennis player Andy Roddick lets out some furious words on the chair umpire (as well as some expletives) during his match with Brazil’s Thomas Bellucci at the Australian Open today.

It happened after the umpire, Fergus Murphy, ruled out a ball. But Belucci challenged the decision and sure enough, the ball was in “by a fraction of an inch” as seen in the Hawkeye system.

After the end of the match, Roddick angrily told the umpire that he would have gone for the ball if were not ruled out. He said, “I’m standing there with my racket back — don’t you think I’m going to … hit it?’ It’s not your job to predict if I’m going to hit it. It’s your job to decide if I could hit it.”

In the end, Roddick won the match by 6-3, 6-4, 6-4, but he refused to shake the umpire’s hand–a common courtesy after every match.

But Roddick later tweeted an apology, “Apologies for the language today folks hopefully most kids were asleep by the time I went off …… my bad.”
