Actress Anna Kendrick has a chance to win the Best Supporting Actress award in the upcoming Oscars, but the Academy Award nominee can only think of one person she wants to be with on the glorious awards night–Adam Lambert.

The actress claims she knew the American Idol runner-up since she was a teenager. “We saw each other at party about a year ago and he told me, ‘You can’t tell anybody but I tried out for American Idol and I got through Hollywood Week. I was like, ‘Okay! You can’t tell anybody but I just booked this movie with George Clooney!’ We didn’t see each other again for a year and finally we saw each other at the Critics’ Choice Awards and the SAG Awards. We were like, you know, it’s been quite a year for both of us,” she tells Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show.

Kendrick was nominated for her role in Up in the Air. Other nominees include Penelope Cruz, Nine; Vera Farmiga, Up in the Air; Maggie Gyllenhaal, Crazy Heart; and Mo’Nique, Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.
