In India, a baby boy was born, his heart was protruding from his chest.
The boy, called “baby of Vibha“, from his mother’s name is set to be operated on Thursday morning. The nine-day old baby has set a record for surviving his condition since he was born on August 25.
Specialists don’t want to delay the surgery as they fear the baby might catch a hospital infection.
Cardiothoracic surgeon A.K. Bisoi, along with his team will perform the surgery to “correct a defect of Mother Nature.”
Bisoi said the condition is known as ectopia cordis and added that this condition only affects five to eight cases in one million live births.
