Research in Motion (RIM) has announced the availability of the new Blackberry Tour 9360, almost in sync with Apple’s launch of the iPhone OS 3.0. The Blackberry Tour 9360 is closely pitted with Apple‘s iPhone 3G S, and the much-awaited Palm Pre.

The Blackberry, generally of Canadian origin,  enjoys smartphone market dominance in North America with a 55.3 percent share, according to one researcher. Apple, in contrast, has a 19.5 percent share during the first quarter of 2009.

The Blackberry Tour 9360 will pack a 3.2-megapixel camera, capable of 2x digital zoom, autofocus, image stabilization and geotagging. It also has GPS functionality and full compatibility with Blackberry Maps, along with all the other staple Blackberry applications.
