Is this time for real? Legendary Florida State coach Bobby Bowden is reported to be retiring, and soon.
Bowden who’s 80 years old, have earlier said that he was being criticized for his age. And now it seems he’s really saying goodbye, as his retirement announcement is expected to be made on Tuesday, with newspapers reporting it tonight.
As a matter of fact, Tallahassee Democrat and Orlando Sentinel claim they have sources which suggest that Bowden will indeed make the announcement on Tuesday.
Reports also say that Bowden met with school officials today. But word said no official decision has been made yet.
Bowden’s retirement means offensive coordinator Jimbo fisher will take over and be in control of the program, as he was named Bowden’s designated replacement in December of 2007.
Fisher has served as an assistant coach at Auburn under Bowden’s son Terry from year 1993 to 1998. Fisher was also the offensive coordinator at the LSU from 2000-2006.
