Nine survivors of a plane which crashed in an Amazon river were found by Indigenous Indians. There were eleven people who were on that plane.
The plane landed in the Itui River between the tribe settlements of Aurelio and Rio Novo. It was the Indians of the Matis tribe who located the plane and alerted the Brazilian air force who in turn, sent search planes to the area. Indians of the Matis live in Aurelio deep in the forest and is an indigenous tribe of about 300.
According to the Brazilian air force, the nine survivors were in good health. Two people are yet to be rescued, a passenger and a crew member. But one of them is believed to be dead. However, the air force did not elaborate.
The plane was to deliver health supplies on Thursday. It took off from Cruzeiro do Sul in Acre State and headed to Tabatinga in Amazonas state.
