Following the death of actress Brittany Murphy, various stories of intrigue and criticism surround her husband, Simon Monjack.
Monjack is rumored to have some “fraudulent activities”. Director of “Factory Girl” George Hickenlooper, said he seriously asked Murphy to rethink her relationship with Monjack. “The last thing I told Brittany is: “Do you know this guy? I mean do you really know him? Do you know what you are doing by marrying him?” ‘ Hickenlooper wrote in a comment on a Hollywood Eslewhere post about the couple. “At this point, Brittany became angry and told me she knew Monjack better than anyone and then hung up on me. A few months later I tried to phone her to see if she was alright and Monjack would not let me speak to her.”
According to Hickenlooper, Monjack’s IMDB story credit is a lie. Monjack allegedly has nothing to do with “Factory Girl.” He was referring to Monjack’s “frivolous” lawsuit against Hickenlooper and Monjack’s “bogus” claims that the director stole the script. The director said they were forced to settle with him.
But Monjack defends himself in an interview with London’s Daily Mail, saying that he wanted to do “Factory Girl” years ago.
Monjack is also reported to have been involved in cases of credit card fraud, debts and visa violations.
