On Thursday, Los Angeles County coroner finally announces the cause of death for Casey Johnson–natural causes.

The coroner found that Casey Johnson died of diabetic ketoacidosis, which is described by the Mayo Clinic as “a serious complication of untreated diabetes.”

On January 4, the heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune was found dead at a friend’s home. She was only 30 years old.

Johnson was always on the spotlight, not just because of her family’s fortune but because of her personal life. Recently, she has been engaged to Internet and reality TV star Tila Tequila.

In the wake of Johnson’s death, Tequila tweeted several messages, among which were the following:

“I can’t stop these haunting visions of her and I. We made such a lovely couple, only beginning to spend the rest of our lives together.”

“Everyone please pray 4 my Wifey Casey Johnson. She has passed away. Thank u for all ur love and support but I will be offline to be w family.”

While a representative of the Johnson family issued a statement posted on the Jets’ Web site, “The Johnson family is mourning their tragic loss and asks for privacy during this very difficult time. The entire New York Jets organization is saddened at the news that Casey Johnson … has passed away.”
