“This team has a great deal of potential and, given the number of young players, they are far from reaching their zenith,” the 61-year-old told the Welt newspaper.

“I am absolutely convinced that this team will dominate European football in the coming years.

“I say that even in view of the big-name competition from England, Italy or Spain.

“Bayern are playing seriously impressive football these days.”

Zamora is a doubt for the biggest match in the club’s 131-year history with the Achilles injury that required a pain-killing injection two weeks ago.

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is hoping the Fulham’s top scorer and winger Damien Duff will be available for the finals.

Fulham is doing well so far – making it to the Europa League semis while maintaining a safe 12th place in the English Premier League.

“Maintaining our momentum in the Premier League was our main concern about playing in this competition, now we are up to something like 58 games already,” Fulham manager Roy Hodgson said.

“For a club like ours, in terms of squad size, there was concern we would not be able to compete on both fronts.

However, Lyon coach Puel believes his team’s impressive form can hold against Munich after they trumped Real Madrid and Bordeaux in their last two matches.

“Everything is possible for us, as much as for Bayern,” he said. “It is important to do well in the first match and not hypothesise over the second.

“This time we’re playing the second leg at home so it’s a bit different.

“It’s very good to get to the semi-finals but this should not be the end of our ambitions. I don’t think the players think that.
