Charles Smith, 48, was finally brought back behind bars last Monday when he was recaptured in Grand Beach, Michigan.

Smith is one of three inmates who managed to escape from an Indiana maximum security prison. Smith was serving time for murder charges.

Smith was captured within the vicinity of Chicago mayor Richard Daley‘s vacation home. Police have reported seeing Smith along with another of the escapees lurking about the area around 5:30 a.m.

Police managed to capture Smith, while Mark Booher, 46, and Lance Battreal, 45, managed to escape into the nearby woods.

Booher is wanted for murder, while Battreal is convicted of rape.

Daley says that he was at home with three grandchildren at the time of their capture.
