A young mother in labor died with her baby still in her womb on Christmas Eve but both the mother and the baby were miraculously revived just minutes after their “death”.

The mother’s husband, Mike Hermanstorfer, was stunned after seeing half of his family die telling ABC News’ Colorado affiliate KRDO, “Half of my family was lying there right in front of me — there’s no other way to say it — dead。 I lost all feeling. Once her heartbeat stopped, I felt like mine did too.”

Hermanstorfer’s wife, Tracey, had suffered cardiac arrest while she was in labor at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs，reports ABC News.

Doctors ordered a emergency C-Section to save the baby after a futile attempt to revive Tracey. The baby was not breathing when they delivered it.

To everyone’s surprise, Tracey’s pulse returned after the baby was delivered and the baby started breathing after doctors tried to get the baby breathing.

The baby boy was named Coltyn Mikel Hermanstorfer and both the mother and baby recovered from their ordeal and were able to go home on Monday.

The cause of Tracey’s cardiac arrest and miraculous revival is still a mystery.
