Google is celebrating with Sesame Street as it marks its 40th anniversary. For starters, Google used Big Bird’s legs yesterday to stand for the two Ls in the word Google for their Google Doodle. And today, Google used the adorable Cookie Monster–its two big eyes become the two Os. All the other letters in the Google word are made up of cookies so it looks like Cookie Monster is out to eat them.

It turns out, the popular character actually sang about Google some 27 years ago.

The video starts with Kermit the Frog making the proper introductions, calling the upcoming performance the ‘music event of the century.’ The song is all about words that rhyme with “oogle” and is performed by Old MacDoogle on the bugle.

Cookie Monster was chosen to sing the lyrics. Kermit said Cookie Monster’s ‘googly eyes’ made him ‘one of the world’s most famous Googlers.’

Google started its tradition of marking events in history with its Google Doodle, when it changes its logo on special days. Earlier this year, it added another L to its spelling to mark the company’s 11th birthday.
