Worshipers at the traditional Christmas mass in the Vatican were shocked Today during the mass after a crazed woman jumped over a security barrier and charged after Pope Benedict XVI as he made his way up the aisle to the Church.

The woman was caught by security guards before she could reach the 82-year-old Pope, who was untouched and barely broke stride, reported the NY Daily News.

There have been reports that the Pope was knocked down by the woman but have been unfounded.

The unidentified woman was arrested by the Vatican’s Swiss Guards. Italian media reports said she was mentally ill.
