It smells of garlic, once again.
This week, California is yet again celebrating the Gilroy Garlic Festival, one of US’ largest annual food fests. It runs from July 24-26, 2009 in, where else but at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy, California.
Gilroy Garlic Festival is known to be the ‘best’ garlic festival in the world, with over a hundred thousand people attending every year to sample garlic-ky creations and cuisines, a bit of music fun, celebrity cooking demos and culminating in a most exciting garlic cook-off.
Held al fresco, the Gilroy Garlic Festival is a place of family fun, as it features a children’s area, interactive displays, and a lot more main attractions.
This year’s festival got Bravo TV Network’s “Top Chef” celebrity, Fabio Vivani to host the garlic cook-off. See winner of cook-off here.
The yearly tradition, which started in 1979 was founded by Dr. Rudy Melone, Don Christopher and Val Filice.
