The world now knows what the Apple iPhone cannot do. Thanks to the series of advertisements rolled out by Verizon Wireless.

These series of ads are known as the “iDon’t” because they put the spotlight on the iPhone’s flaws while at the same time showing the features of Motorola’s new Android-based DROID. In a nutshell, it tells people to buy the new DROID instead of the iPhone.

The iDon’t reminds people that the iPhone does not have a keyboard, updated Google Maps with turn-by-turn directions, and an open platform, unlike the DROID. But is this going to pull down iPhone sales?

Analysts are saying that despite the iDon’t ads, iPhone will still remain on top. Interpret analyst Michael Gartenberg explains, “What Verizon needs to do is emphasize the Verizon strengths relative to the 3G network.”

Another analyst, Ramon Llamas, says, “You can poke holes but cannot take away from Apple’s strength with the iPhone here in the U.S., because the iPhone has a very special place in the U.S. market.”
