In what turned out to be one of NBC’s worst decisions, fans of talk show host Conan O’Brien has taken their outrage to the internet. And now the campaign has gone viral.
The media giant has decided to push Conan’s Tonight show from 11:35 PM to 12:05 AM, in order to give way to Jay Leno’s show which turned out to be not ready for primetime yet.
Tens of thousands of fans are expressing their support for Conan and his stand against NBC. He has even issued an official statement against NBC’s decision regarding the change of schedule.
Los Angeles artist Mike Mitchell sketched a heroic image of Conan with his famous orange hair and a line that says “I’m with CoCo.” It has inspired pro-Conan Facebook Groups. You can also check Team Conan as one of Twitter’s top tweets.
On Wednesday Conan told his audience, “Hosting The Tonight Show has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me – and I just want to say to the kids out there watching: You can do anything you want in life. Unless Jay Leno wants to do it, too.”
