On Tuesday afternoon, husband and wife Lori and Michael Kramer were murdered inside their house on Kilkenny Drive in Darien. Another victim was their 20-year-old son Michael.
After a manhunt for the suspect, the police arrested 23-year-old Jacob Nodarse while he was sleeping in a van outside his parents’ house in Lehigh Acres, Fla. at around 4 p.m. today.
3 people survived the attack–the couple’s other grown son and a daughter, along with Michael Kramer’s 17-year-old girlfriend. It was the daughter, who was 25 years old, who called 911 while hiding inside a closet.
Invetigators did not find a gun inside the house. Deputy Police Chief John Cooper said Tuesday, “There’s nobody that can identify the person or persons in the house that did the shooting. They heard the shots but didn’t see anybody.”
Nodarse was charged with obstruction of justice, but the police wouldn’t explain why they believe he is the suspect in the Darien murders.
Police Chief Robert Pavelchik said the crime was a random act, and that the suspect only targeted someone in the Kramer house, and was not attacking the whole neighborhood.
