In Indonesia, a newborn baby boy is drawing quite a crowd for being a “whopper.” Weighing about 19.2-pound (8.7 kilogram), this baby has set a new record on being the largest baby ever.
He was born to a diabetic mother by cesarian section. As of press time, both mom and baby are in good condition.
The mother of baby boy is reported to have labored for 40 minutes and suffered a complicated operation because of the baby’s weight and size.
The baby, Akbar Risuddin measured about 24 inches (62 cm).
People went to the hospital in the town of Kisaran in the Islamic province of North Sumatra to marvel at the record-breaking baby.
One doctor said, “He is greedy and has a strong appetite, nursing almost nonstop.”
It’s believed that the baby’s extreme weight and size could be the result of excessive glucose from his mother during pregnancy.
