After winning the fight with Miguel Cotto, it seems boxing fans are hoping they will soon see Manny Pacquiao fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. on the ring. But some say it will not happen as egos, greed and grudges get in the way.

HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg said it’s a simple negotiation. He adds, “There’s so much money to be made. If it doesn’t happen, there’ll be a revolt. Nothing else is acceptable, and I’m speaking on behalf of the American public and the sport itself.”

But just like the reasons before, who gets more than 50% is always an issue, as well as the dislike between Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum.

However, Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer is optimistic that he will be able to work it out with Arum so there would be a fight between Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao.

Meanwhile, Cotto is off to the hospital to get his facial cuts treated but his possible future fights include Shane Mosley or Antonio Margarito.
