Portland’s Martell Webster was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Ryan Gomes and the rights to the 16th overall pick Luke Babbitt Thursday night during the 2010 NBA Draft.

Martell averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds and played in all 82 regular season games in the 2009-2010 season. Martell nearly sat out the entire 2008-2009 season due to an injury.

Martell will serve as a backup SF for Batum and was only signed up for a one season contract.

To fill in Webster’s shoes in Portland is Ryan Gomes, a SF who averaged 10.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 76 regular season games in 2009-10.
