The Jackson family were given the choice of whether to wait up to an additional three weeks to bury his body, or to go on ahead and bury it without a brain. The family has chosen to do the former.
According to medical specialists, the coroner’s office plans on performing certain neuropathology tests to assist in determining the exact cause of the singer’s death. However, these tests cannot be performed until at least two weeks after the time of death, so that the brain would have had sufficient time to harden sufficiently to be sliced open.
Sources report the Jackson’s brain was already removed before it was returned to relatives.
