Update on the Michael-Phelps-car-accident story. After a police source declared that no alcohol and drugs were involved in the crash, Olympian swimmer Michael Phelps admits he was drinking the night the accident happened.
Turns out there was alcohol involved, after all. The reports say Phelps only drank “a beer” about an hour and 15 minutes prior to the crash. Phelps didn’t show signs of alcohol impairment. He wasn’t given a sobriety test, either.
The other driver, identified as Amanda E. Virkus was the one who was found to be at fault. She failed to obey a red light.
Phelps, on the other hand, will be cited for driving with an invalid and out-of-state license.
