Teen queen Miley Cyrus‘ hit song, “The Climb,” was nominated for the 2010 Grammy’s.
“The Climb” was featured on Miley’s movie, Hannah Montana. The song, written by Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe, was originally in line for the Grammy’s best song written for a soundtrack category. But after only a day, the song was pulled out, because it turned out it was not specifically written for the movie, which means the song became ineligible for the award. Miley was not nominated because she didn’t write the song.
The slot for “The Climb” will now go to Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “All is Love,” a song written for the movie, “Where the Wild Things Are.”
New Kerala reports Matt LaMotte of O’s label Interscope Geffen A&M saying in a statement, “In an unexpected twist, one of the announced Grammy candidates for Best Song written for a Soundtrack has been disqualified after the fact. ”
