Singer Morrissey collapsed on the stage during his concert in Swindon, west of London, on Saturday night. The British singer, whose real name is Steven Patrick Morrissey, was sent to the Great Western Hospital. An ambulance was called to the venue just after 9 p.m. (4 p.m. ET).

Reports say Morrissey was treated on the scene and then was taken to the hospital afterwards. Hospital manager Teresa Harding refused to disclose anything about Morrissey’s medical condition, only saying that the singer was admitted for precautionary measures.

He was discharged from the hospital about 1 p.m. (9 a.m. ET) on Sunday. A statement on his website read, “Morrissey is in stable condition after his collapse in Swindon Saturday night. Thanks go out to all his well wishers, more information will be posted as soon as it is available.”

Morrissey is now 50 years old. He was the front man of the 1980s band The Smiths. Afterwards he launched a successful solo career.
