Nintendo Co Ltd. announced that it’s cutting the price of its highly popular game console, Wii, by 20 percent.
According to Nintendo, the price of Wii will lower by $50 up to $199.99 in the US beginning Sunday. Meanwhile in Japan, Wii will fall by 5,000 yen to 20,000 yen come October.
The timely price cut have been due to consumers becoming more practical when it comes to buying and shopping as well a tough competition from its rival brand, Sony PlayStation and Microsoft’s Xbox.
Earlier this year, Sony and Microsoft have already cut down its prices.
Being the last of the three major companies to cut down prices on game consoles, Nintendo’s sales have suffered a bit. But now that it has also offered consumers a friendlier price, Nintendo just might get back on top, just as it has always been.
