Pixar never fails.
And that’s probably why in the recent Venice Film Festival, the Academy Award ®-winning computer animation studio Pixar was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for director and producer John Lasseter and his whole crew of Pixar directors.
The award was to honor Pixar’s work in “creating a new generation of childhood memories.” This is the first time an entire studio gets this prestigious award, as previous awards were bestowed on only one filmmaker.
“We really set out to deeply entertain an audience, not just children but adults as well,” Lasseter said.
Pixar pioneered the digital computer animation. They’ve made a total of 10 feature films, four of which have won the Oscars since 2001. They are based in California and was founded in 1986.
