Renowned director and producer Roman Polanski will remain in a jail outside Zurich and he will stay there for at least three more days until he meets with the security conditions of his bail.

Justice Ministry spokesman Folco Galli said Polanski will not be placed under house arrest in Switzerland before Monday because he is yet to fulfill the requirements to make sure he stays in his chalet in the Swiss luxury resort of Gstaad. The ministry is still deciding on whether Polanski should be extradited to the US. LA authorities are lobbying for his sentence because he was on the run for 31 years.

Also according to Galli, the 76-year old will have to post $4.5 million bail, surrender identity papers and wear a monitoring bracelet.

Reports say that Polanski is given a special treatment in prison. A former Winterthur inmate said Polaski would always make a phone call (to his wife or lawyers), something not all inmates are allowed to do.

Polanski was charged for having sex with a 13-year old girl in 1977. Among Polanski’s most famous works include “Rosemary’s Baby,” “Chinatown” and “The Pianist.”
