Millions of people flocked to the Staples Center website to register for tickets to Michael Jackson‘s public memorial center to be held at the Staples Center in LA; and inadvertently crashed the website prompting the Staple Center to buy more resources to cope with the demand.
The Staples Center will be drawing 17,500 lucky winners from the registered people for the chance to to go to Michael Jackson’s public memorial and funeral service on Tuesday. 11,000 will be granted access to the Staples Center itself and 6,500 more giving admittance to the Nokia Theater across the street, where large TV screens will broadcast the memorial live.
Security will obviously beefed up by the LAPD and acting Los Angeles Mayor adviced people to watch the service at home instead, “You might want to consider watching this from the comfort of your own home,”
The life and music of the King of Pop will be celebrated during the service.
