Jenna Bush Hager, the daughter of former President George W. Bush, is becoming a member of the press.
She is NBC’s newest correspondent on the “Today” show and will be covering stories on education once a month for the morning show. Hager is a Baltimore school teacher and two-time published author.
The former first daughter said, “It wasn’t something I’d always dreamed to do. But I think one of the most important things in life is to be open-minded and to be open-minded for change.”
Hager says she plans to keep her stories focused on education, urban education, women and children’s issues, and literacy. Calling the topic “not that interesting,” she does not anticipate talking about being the daughter of a President.
“I hope to focus on what I’m passionate about,” Hager says of her stories.
