Who was the brains behind the now famous “I’m with Coco” poster?
The name is Mike Mitchell. The 27-year-old LA-based freelance artist said it all started as a way for one artist to support another. But now it’s viral. “I’m with Coco” has made it online and has gathered quite a follwing. The Facebook page that supports Conan’s stand against NBC’s decision to move him to 12:05 to give way to Jay Leno now has 418 fans and counting.
And if that’s not enough, the “I’m with Coco” campaign is also now kicking with huge sales in posters and shirts.
Mitchell said, “I wanted to try to spread it around town to get a movement behind it, a support growing. I finished the design and sent it off on Twitter, and I woke up the next day and it had started. It already had wheels and it just blew up from there.”
Mitchell also said he wasn’t planning on selling any merchandise at first but because he got a lot of requests from people to buy the image.
