Actor Aaron Johnson was last seen in the teen comedy, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. But that’s probably not where you’ve heard of him. It’s his latest movie, Nowhere Boy, where Johnson really started making waves.
In Nowhere Boy, Johnson plays the legendary Beatle, John Lennon. Film critics are raving about his performance and portrayal of Lennon, but for Johnson, it’s the praise of Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, which meant the most to him.
Lennon’s widow wrote a long letter of praise for the film, and even granted director Sam Taylor Wood to use a rendition of Lennon’s song, Mother, for the film’s closing credits.
Johnson said, “She’s been wonderful. She knew Lennon closer than anybody, and really understood him, so it’s a huge compliment when you get something like that.”
Nowhere Boy tells of Lennon’s younger years back when he was in his formative years; still angry and confused. Nowhere Boy is now playing in theaters.
