This particular Rugby League is one of the three major leagus in Europe and is annually held.  Three countries participate in this fest, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The season starts between September and May with each team playing every other team on a home and away basis. At the end of the regular season, the top four placed teams enter the semi-final stage, with the winner of the first against the fourth and second versus third playoffs entering the Grand Final. The venue for the Grand Final is a privilege given to the highest placed team in the regular season, choosing where the final showdown will take place.

Starting in the 2009-10 season the Magners League will be decided by play-offs. This consists of the top four clubs of the league entering into a semi final with the winners progressing onto a grand final to determine its champion.
