It was a tough night for both teams, as the Orlando Magic beat the Boston Celtics in overtime at the TD Garden, 96-92.
Dwight Howard displayed a spectacular performance, scoring 32 points, getting 16 rebounds and 4 shot blocks against the best of the Boston offense. Magic need this win to extend the series and their hopes to capture the Eastern Conference trophy and make a round 2 bout against the Los Angeles Lakers again who lost in Game 3.
Jameer Nelson who scored with 23 points would often find Howard under the basket, an obvious dish and follow up ensues and boom, Howard scored 2 by 2, accumulating much to force the game in overtime. Nelson himself scored two huge 3 pointers in the 4th quarter. And when it seemed that the Magic would win that easy, Ray Allen did what he does best, scoring behind the huge arc. Allen scored two 3 pointers to help the Celtics extend in overtime which they eventually lost when no Celtic player just couldn’t bag in long shot anymore, and the Magic forcing some turnovers from Pierce and Garnett.
Ray Allen finished with 22 points and Paul Pierce scored 32 points.
Vince Carter just couldn’t find his rhythm, even Rajon Rondo was held down to 9 points but dished out a lot of assists.
