Former teen tennis star Jennifer Capriati was reported to have been rushed to the hospital. Paramedics responded to a call for a possible overdose. Sources say the call came from a hotel in Riviera Beach, FL. Capriati was brought to a hospital nearby.
Capriati’s father told TMZ that the tennis pro was on her way to recovery.
Jennifer Capriati is a former World Number 1 women’s tennis player from the USA. She has won 14 career titles, including 3 Grand Slams. In 1992, she won a gold medal at the Olympics.
It was her father, Italian-American boxer turned tennis coach Stefano, who introduced her to tennis. He continued to be her coach when she played pro.
In 1993, Capriati took a break from competitive tennis and faced some personal and legal problems, including a shoplifting incident and an arrest for possession of marijuana.
