Japan’s nightmares continues Thursday when a 5.6 magnitude shook the Pacific off Honshu, Japan – according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The northeast area is really taking a beating even after it was leveled by a March 11 combo of earthquake and tsunami, that knocked out power at the Fukushima nuclear plant.

The epicenter of the tremor was near 51 miles southeast of Fukushima. The quake was centered some 28 miles deep.

The tremor that struck at 3:35AM Friday was free from immediate damages and casualties, a tsunami watch wasn’t declared.

Still on a Thursday and still on the same are, June 23, a magnitude 6.7 quake was felt. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning then canceled it after an hour later.

The aftermath of the March 11 earthquake is still reaping. That magnitude 9.0 has been dubbed as the Great East Japan Earthquake. It was the most powerful earthquake to hit the Land of the Rising Sun.
