Watch out for the egg killer.

Hundreds of people have reported getting sick and the cause is said to be an outbreak of salmonella in eggs. Three states at least have expanded an egg recall to 380 million eggs.

Salmonella is the most common bacterial form of food poisoning.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with the help of state health departments are working on the link between the sickness and the eggs.

At the onset of the investigation, 228 million eggs were recalled but it was increased to the equivalent of nearly 32 million dozen-egg cartons.

Fortunately, no deaths have been reported, according to Dr. Christopher Braden, a CDC epidemiologist involved in the investigation.

The salmonella sickness was linked to eggs from Wright County Egg in Galt, Iowa. The eggs were distributed around the country and packaged under the names Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemp.
