News on J. Lo’s splitting with Marc Anthony erupted almost 15 days ago. Lopez went to Ukraine for a million dollar wedding gig and Anthony teased his concert crowd about the split.

There’s no more teasing, Lopez spills the beans in an issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

“That was my biggest dream (speaking of her marriage with Anthony), and I really worked hard at it. We both did,” Lopez quickly added. Sometimes it doesn’t work – and that’s sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love.”

In Lopez’s case, it has not worked out with all her marriages. That’s sad and bad at the same time. Let me tell you, marriage is not just about love, although love plays a huge part of it, in fact, love (the feeling) initiates but should not be the basis that leads to marriage. It takes more than than fluffy happy feeling. Because if you do, then you shouldn’t marry. Feelings dissipate.

Lopez continues, “It’s not that I didn’t love myself before. Sometimes we don’t realise that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that person is not treating you the right way, or that he’s not doing the right thing for himself – if I stay, then I’m not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now.”
