The Turkish club Besiktas have acquired former Utah Jazz and New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams for a year. The one year contract cost them $5M. Hungry for more, Besiktas also went after 5-time NBA Champion and 2-time Finals MVP Kobe Bryant.

VATAN, a Turkish newspaper wrote that if Besiktas fails to recruit Bryant, they would then shift their focus on the guard/forward Kevin Durant.

“The Turkish teams have been real aggressive,” says Duran’ts agent Aaron Goodwin. “The Turkish option is very intriguing. We’re looking at other countries as well. Kevin hasn’t agreed to play anywhere yet, but we’re looking for the best fit.”
