The pop singer and talented actress Jennifer Lopez, has reportedly agreed to a deal with American Idol to receive a whopping $12M to judge in the coming season.

Deadline.com claims that Lopez initially wanted more, that the actress was asking for $15M to judge in the series, a guaranteed motion picture deal and, number of TV pilots from the companies which produce ‘American Idol’ – Fox, Fremantle, and 19 Entertainment. It was worth a try, it’s suppose to be like that in business anyway, but even a J. Lo can get turned down.

An insider who knows how the negotiations transpired said: ”She was angling for an overall deal at Fox, including a put picture, to keep her movie career going. But Fox said no.”

Benny Medina, J. Lo’s manager arranged a meeting between the singer and the producers back in June, and she accepted the judging role in July. She was also allegedly approached by former “Idol” judge, Simon Cowell, to judge on the US version of his programme ‘The X Factor’ which will air in autumn 2011 before committing to ‘American Idol’.
