It was an impressive display of skill for the 2010 NBA Rookie of Year, Tyreke Evans who went to score 26 points to push the Sacramento Kings to a 109-95 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night in the teams’ first pre-season opener in Sacramento.

Evans shot 9-out-of-17 from the field and gave out 5 assists. Although he can be seen on the court in the preseason, Evans will have to miss the season-opener October 27 at Minnesota due to a one-game suspension imposed by the NBA after he pleaded no contest to a reckless driving incident over the summer.

Jason Richardson scored 17 points for the revamped Suns, who began the campaign without Amare Stoudemire, who was a five-time All-Star. Stoudemire spent his entire eight-year playing in the league for the Suns, until he went to the New York Knicks in the offseason in a sign-and-trade package.

You will also miss key reserves Leandro Barbosa and Lou Amundson, who helped the Suns reach the Western Conference finals last season.

Steve Nash and Grant Hill who just turned 38, saw little action.
