The Los Angeles Lakers were victorious last night against an old conference rival, the Phoenix Suns. The game ended with 111-103, and the Lakers’ conference finals record got set on 4-2, they advance to the finals against an older rival, the Boston Celtics.

Kobe Bryant dominated Game 6, with 37 points.

“What can you say about Kobe?,” wondered Suns head coach Alvin Gentry. “There’s an intense game going on, and you almost have to laugh. I thought we played great defense on him, but he just made shot after shot.”

This is the second time in this decade that both teams meet in the finals. The Celtics won the championship back in 2008, and the Lakers dominated the Orlando Magic in the 2009 Finals. This is a match made in heaven. Both teams are experienced, with balanced number of veteran players on each side, along with hot, new ones. It doesn’t get any prettier than that. The Lakers though, still have the bigger players than the speedy Celtics.

Here’s a look on the Celtic’s past & what happened in ’08.
