China has urged the Philippines Thursday to release the findings of the probe into the death of eight Hong Kong tourists during the hostage drama that unfolded earlier this week.

“We believe that the most urgent task is to get clear investigation results of the incident as soon as possible,” said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu statement posted on the ministry’s website (www.mfa.gov.cn).

The commanders involved in the failed rescue of the hijacked tourist bus that led to the deaths of eight hostages have been ordered to take a leave of absence and their weapons were taken for testing to determine if any of them were responsible for the hostage deaths.

The kidnapper, who was a dismissed policeman, was shot dead by police but it was undetermined yet whether the hostages were killed by the kidnapper or during the rescue. This prompted the anger of Chin and Hong Kong officials.
