After awards nights, people mostly buzz not about who won what, but about certain showstopping, scene-stealing, buzz worthy events that commenced during the evening. After the BET Awards 2010 last night, Chris Brown is the talk of the town.

R&B singer and dancer Chris Brown, who assaulted now ex-girlfriend Rihanna last year, performed a tribute number for King of Pop Michael Jackson. During the tribute, Brown performed some of Jackson’s most popular hits. The number started out wonderfully, honoring the man who has forever changed the music industry.

After performing ‘Billie Jean’, even exhibiting his dance moves imitating the trademark acts of the king himself, Brown was back onstage to perform the hit ‘Man in the Mirror’.

As he started singing the first lines, it was obvious how his voiced cracked as he struggled with tears and sobs. He wasn’t able to gather himself up to perform as he broke down onstage. The audience was sympathetic, cheering him on and singing the lyrics he couldn’t anymore sing.

People are buzzing about the number since then, asking if the tears were real or merely an act for Brown to revive his slackened career. People have also been speculating what triggered Brown’s tears; was it Michael Jackson himself? or was he reminded of what his reckless acts have done to his career?
