If you’ve been googling today, then you’ve probably noticed its new look because the internet search monster has implemented a new type of ad format that will allow advertisers to include a thumbnail image alongside text in ads that appear on Google Images.

The new format is called Image Search Ads and will only appear only on Google Images at present and they allow you to include a thumbnail image alongside your lines of text,” as explained by Google Images Product Manager Nate Smith. “We hope they’re a useful way to reach folks who are specifically looking for images.”

But Google Director for search products, Ben Ling,  said that the company has in mind adopting the format on other products, which includes the company’s search engine.

The company is expecting the new ads to command a premium over simple search ads that are currently available on Google Images, but they declined to provide additional details.
